We are currently reviewing submissions, and presenters will be notified in due course.

Abstract categories
05. Ongoing Clinical Trials or Multi-centre Studies
Submit here if:
- Your trial or study is underway
- You cannot provide results by November 2026
- You can still outline study aims, design, participating sites, and projected impact
04. Late-Breaking Large Clinical Trials or Studies with Immediate Clinical Impact
Submit here only if your project:
- Is large-scale, high-impact, and likely to influence practice
- Will have final results available by August 2026
- Can meet BOTH late-breaking deadlines
01. Research: Completed Studies (Clinical Trials or Other Studies)
Submit under this category if:
- Your study is complete at the time of submission
- You have results and conclusions available
- Your work answers a defined research question
02. Service Development, Quality Improvement, Education & Training
Submit under this category if your work:
- Involves local or regional improvement projects, implementation initiatives, pathway changes, or training interventions
- Has been designed and tested in real practice
- Produces measurable results or key learning, whether positive or negative
03. Case Reports (Including Small Case Series)
Submit here if you are reporting:
- A single clinical case
- A small series of related cases
- An unusual presentation, diagnostic dilemma, rare complication, or instructive clinical scenario

Top tips for success
Do's
✓ Proofread thoroughly

- Clinical relevance – Does this help stroke patients?

Final Checklist Before Submission
- No more than 250 words
- Four section headings present
- No images or graphics
- Spell-checked
- Reviewed by a colleague
- Submitted on or before 19 May 2026
Guidance notes
- Abstracts must be submitted online exclusively via our Abstracts portal.
- Submissions by email will not be accepted.
- The main contact for communications will be the first author, it's their responsibility to pass on any information to other authors.
- A panel of expert reviewers from the stroke field will evaluate the abstracts to determine acceptance for presentation.
- All abstracts must be received by the specified deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
- The total word count for the introduction, methods, results, and conclusions sections should not exceed 250 words. Abstracts exceeding this limit will not be reviewed.
- Ensure that all required information is submitted in the correct format as specified.
- Failure to do so may impact how the abstract appears in the program or the International Journal of Stroke. We will not make corrections to improperly submitted information.
- Each individual may submit up to five abstracts, regardless of the presenting author.
- An individual may serve as the presenting author for up to five abstracts.
- If your abstract is accepted, the presenting authors must be registered participants. Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by the Early Registration Deadline (late July) will be scheduled for presentation and included in the publication.
- Submission of an abstract indicates acceptance for it to be published in the official Forum publications.
- The number of authors is limited to 10.
- The first author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of and agree to the content and submission of the abstract before submitting it.
- All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling, suitable for publication. If needed, please arrange for your abstract to be reviewed by a native English speaker, a university-specific publications office, or a copy editor prior to submission.
- The abstract's content will not be checked before publication; it is the author's responsibility to ensure the work is grammatically correct.
- Instructions for the preparation of presentations will be provided in due course.
